About us

The Aachen Student Choir of the KHG has been offering its currently about 40 singers of different subjects, denominations and nationalities the opportunity to experience challenging choral music and to meet music enthusiasts of the same age for 50 years. Since January 2023 the choir has been conducted by Ulrike Bauer.

At present, a larger concert programme is prepared about once or twice a year. In addition, there are further, smaller performances in church services or at events in Aachen and its surroundings. In addition to the major works of choral literature from the Baroque to the Romantic period, the choir’s repertoire also includes numerous shorter sacred and secular pieces from various countries and epochs. Among the highlights of the choir’s concert activities in recent years were the performance of the Mass in B minor by J. S. Bach in June 2012, the Requiem by W. A. Mozart in November 2013 and the Messa da Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi in November 2015.

In addition to the joy of making music, the togetherness within the choir community is very important and is not neglected on rehearsal days and choir weekends. Newcomers are always welcome, rehearsals take place on Tuesdays from 19.45 to 22.00 in the large hall of the KHG Aachen.
